MARK.S — A Closer Look
Hello.
Although details such as the designer's background are unknown, "MARK.S" is gradually captivating customers with the appearance of its clothing.
Perhaps due to the passion behind it, the items are gradually selling out as the message reaches customers.
This time, I would like to talk about the MARK.S “ROCHUT JACKET” (Check), which I am personally drawn to among the others.
When looking at clothing, some things first attract you with their shape, while others catch your eye with their fabric, making you pick them up.
This jacket was definitely one that caught my eye because of the fabric.

The check has subdued colors, but up close, you can see various colored threads layered together. From a little distance, it looks unified, but as you get closer, you notice its intricate details.
I think the reason it is easy to pair with everyday clothes despite being a patterned item is largely due to the depth of these colors.
The fabric is an original fabric developed jointly with a factory in Iwate.
I visited this factory the other day, and it was a factory that supplied fabric to many prestigious brands, so it was very enjoyable to look through the fabric books they had made so far.
First, they make a sample by hand weaving, and then reproduce its texture and the layering of colors on a low-speed loom.
It is a fabric made of 75% wool and 25% silk, combining wool slub yarns and Shetland wool heather yarns with silk threads of different colors.
By mixing yarns of different thicknesses and textures, even the plain weave creates unevenness and a subtle luster.
It is interesting to look at the fabric again after knowing its background, and the more I look at it, the more beautiful I find it.
However, if you can simply feel, "This fabric is nice," without overthinking it, that is what matters most.

The shape is a balance between a work jacket and a shirt.
It has room in the body and around the shoulders, allowing it to be worn lightly like a shirt, while also having a strong presence as outerwear.
The size 3 I am wearing is a relaxed fit that still has plenty of room to layer a knit underneath.

This time, I tried pairing it with vintage Shetland knitwear and corduroy pants.
I recommend rolling up the sleeves.
The knit is GRAND DOUGLAS for NORDSTROM, made in Scotland.
I added deep green to the check, and layered a BLACKBIRD turtleneck underneath the V-neck.
The balance is such that only a little of the stripes are visible at the neck.
Although I layered a pattern on the check, it blends naturally by keeping the number of colors subdued.
The pants are 80s Phillip Stewart.
They are dark olive cotton corduroy, with a relaxed two-pleat design and a clean length.
Since both the jacket and the pants have expressive fabrics, I kept the colors subdued and styled them to enjoy each texture.

Adding a new piece of clothing to the vintage clothes you always wear.
At our store, we would like to propose such ways of styling as well.
Rather than thinking of a special outfit, try throwing this jacket over a knit you already have or pants you are used to wearing.
I would be happy if the item you chose because you were drawn to the fabric becomes one that naturally gets a lot of use in your daily life.
Please try it on at the store, looking at it closely and then from a little distance.
We will be in Osaka from tomorrow evening, and it will be a four-day pop-up starting the day after tomorrow.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming customers from the Kansai area.
