MARK.S “ROCHUT JACKET” (Black)
FELTED FABRIC BLACK
The “ROCHUT JACKET” combines elements of both a work jacket and a shirt.
It serves as a piece that occupies the middle ground, offering the presence of outerwear while remaining as lightweight and easy to wear as a shirt.
The fabric is made from wool yarn derived primarily from Austrian Winners wool. Winners wool is known for having both the softness of lamb's wool and the firm tension and resilience of mature sheep's wool.
After the fabric is felted, it is dyed. By dyeing after the felting process, the fabric is compressed more intensely, resulting in a dense texture and a deep black color.
The fabric, which retains a core resilience within its softness, will gradually conform to the wearer's body and take on a three-dimensional character over time.
We are using a highly rare fabric with limited production capacity.
We have received only one unit of each size in our shop.
All MARK.S products are sewn within Japan. While some items may incorporate vintage, deadstock, or hand-woven fabrics from overseas, the sewing, which is the foundation of our craftsmanship, is consistently performed in Japan.

MARK.S is a brand that prioritizes receiving clothing through pure "sensation" rather than understanding it through words or logic.
In an era overflowing with information and explanations, clothing is sometimes discussed through words long before it is actually touched. However, for things that truly capture the heart, no reason or evaluation criteria are necessary.
There is a beauty in fabrics layered with history, worn-out rags (boro), and vintage wear that have been loved for a long time that words alone cannot convey. The craftsmanship of MARK.S began with the pursuit of this extremely personal and intimate sensation that arises between such clothing and the individual.
The designer personally collects hand-woven and hand-spun fabrics from around the world, as well as antiques and deadstock fabrics that have remained unused. Focusing on natural materials, the brand creates items in small quantities in Japan, all while bringing out the individual character and history of each material.
In the traditional Amami Oshima mud-dyeing process, the use of mud, tree bark, and iron-rich soil expresses colors with depth and fluctuation that can only be born from the nature of that land. Additionally, depending on the fabric, it is slowly woven over time using vintage looms similar to manual hand-weaving machines.
Therein lies a set of values different from mass production that prioritizes efficiency. The goal is to create clothing that does not waste materials, is unaffected by the trends of the times, and remains for the future while changing alongside the wearer. Every MARK.S piece is inscribed with the designer's aesthetic sense and the traces of accumulated time.
The designer's own name and background are not made public. This is based on the philosophy that one should first see, touch, and feel the product itself before being influenced by such information.
The brand name "MARK" signifies a sign, a record, a trace, or a symbol. The "S" adds the meanings of "Special" and "Supreme."
"The designer's record/archive."
The name MARK.S embodies the sentiment of leaving one's own aesthetic sense behind as a trace within clothing.
