MARK.S “DOMENICO PANTS” (Stripe)
-WOOL STRIPE

The “DOMENICO PANTS” are a staple of the MARK.S brand.
While based on the universal design of slacks, the designer has carefully balanced every detail to create a unique silhouette. Combining a neat, formal appearance with ease of movement, these pants are highly versatile for a wide range of styling options.

These pants are crafted using original MARK.S wool fabric, produced in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture—one of Japan’s leading wool-weaving regions.

The warp uses top-dyed yarns arranged in a hairline pattern, while the weft uses yarn-dyed worsted wool. By weaving these into a herringbone structure, we achieve delicate stripes and a rich, deep aesthetic.
The density of the weave is kept slightly lower than standard specifications, and the fabric is thoroughly washed to draw out the natural softness and volume inherent to the wool.

In the final finishing stage, the fabric is not pressed heavily to create a uniform surface; instead, the natural texture of the material is preserved. Furthermore, a sun-drying finish brings out natural wrinkles, and the garment is washed after sewing to ensure it feels soft and familiar to the body from the very first wear.

While possessing the poise of classic striped slacks, these trousers are defined by a natural texture that feels effortless, not stiff. This piece fully extracts the unique character of wool, from the initial weave to the final finish.

All MARK.S products are sewn within Japan. While we occasionally incorporate vintage fabrics, deadstock, or hand-woven textiles from overseas, the sewing process—the foundation of our craftsmanship—is consistently carried out in Japan.

Brand:MARK.S

MARK.S is a brand that values receiving clothing through pure "sensation" rather than understanding it through words or logic.

In a modern era overflowing with information and explanations, clothes are sometimes described with too many words before one even has the chance to touch the real thing. However, for things that truly capture the heart, there is no need for reasons or evaluation criteria.

Aged textiles, Boro, and vintage wear that have been loved for a long time possess a beauty that words alone cannot convey. The craftsmanship of MARK.S began with the pursuit of the extremely personal and intimate sensations that emerge between such clothing and the wearer.

The designer personally collects hand-woven and hand-spun fabrics, antique materials, and deadstock textiles from around the world that have remained unused. Focusing on natural materials, the brand produces pieces in small quantities within Japan, leveraging the unique character and history of each material.

In the traditional Amami Oshima mud-dyeing process, we use mud, tree bark, and iron-rich soil to express colors with depth and fluctuation that can only be born from that land’s nature. Depending on the fabric, we also use vintage looms close to hand-weaving machines, weaving the fabric slowly over time.

The values here are different from those of mass production, which prioritizes efficiency. We aim to create clothes that do not waste material, are not swayed by the times, and will continue into the future while changing alongside the wearer. Every MARK.S garment is inscribed with the designer's aesthetic and the traces of time accumulated.

The designer’s name and background are not disclosed. This stems from the belief that one should see, touch, and feel the product itself before any such information.

The brand name "MARK" signifies a sign, a record, a trace, or a symbol. The "S" is layered with the meanings of "Special" and "Supreme."
