90's Willis & Geiger The Hemingway bush jacket
Detail:
This is a 90s Willis & Geiger Hemingway bush jacket.
It has a roomy fit, making it ideal for larger individuals or those who prefer an oversized look.
Ernest Hemingway, a writer known for his works set in Africa, also led an active life of fishing, hunting, and exploration.
When he set out on his African expedition, this Hemingway bush jacket was created with a design tailored to his requests.
Traditionally, safari jackets have a belt to cinch the waist. However, at the request of the "lazy" Hemingway, the belt was removed and the waist was changed to a shirred design with elastic.
Characteristic design features include a gun patch on the right chest, a glasses pocket on the left sleeve, and many other highly functional pockets, as well as epaulets on the shoulders.
The fabric itself acted as a kind of armor, protecting the skin from malaria-carrying mosquitoes, which were the most feared at the time.
It uses Willis & Geiger's signature "340 Cotton Bush Poplin" fabric, woven with 340 double-ply cotton threads per inch.
It is in excellent condition and is a classic item that can be used for a long time.
Worn by a staff member who is 173cm tall and weighs 60kg.
