TYPE 157 TROUSERMAKER’S JEANS
BRIGHT WELD
With heavy-duty denim, a relaxed silhouette, and the depth created by pleats, this piece allows you to enjoy the TENDER-esque presence of materials with the sensibility of British trousers.
Crafted from 16oz Japanese-woven selvedge denim, sewn in England. BRIGHT WELD is achieved by overdyeing indigo fabric with weld, a plant-derived yellow dye.
Weld is a dye that has been used to color garments since ancient times. Its yellow hue overlaps with the indigo to create a depth that cannot be expressed by a single color. The texture and irregularities of the thick denim are also elements that enhance the enjoyment of this shade.
The inspiration for the shape comes from Oxford Bags, the wide-legged British trousers. The TYPE 157 adds the perspective of Savile Row tailoring to that foundation.
It features inward-facing pleats at the waist, providing ample volume from the thighs to the hem. Combined with the vertical side pockets, it makes a striking impression when a shirt is tucked in.
On the back, there is a flap extending from the waistband and pockets positioned high up. The brass waist button and copper rivets also subtly stand out against the dyed fabric.
A sophisticated denim that pairs well with knitwear and jackets. It is a pair to be enjoyed daily, as the fabric softens and conforms to your body over time.
As the designer has relocated to the United States, this will be the final model of jeans produced in England.
